Fundamental quantities  Fundamental quantities are the basic quantities that are independent of other quantities. They cannot be defined in terms of other quantities or derived from them. Most of the derived quantities depend on them. Examples of fundamental quantities are Length, Mass, Time, Temperature, Electric current, Amount of substance, and Luminous intensity. Note:     The three most important basic quantities in Physics are length, mass, and time                   Fundamental Units   Fundamental units are the basic units upon which other units depend. They are the units of fundamental quantities. Examples of fundamental units are  meter (m), kilogram (kg), seconds (s), kelvin (k), ampere (A), mole (mol), and candela (cd). Physics is a branch of pure science that deals with the study of matter, energy, and the interactions between them. Energy exists in different forms such as motion, light, electricity, radiation, and gravity.           Branches of Physics Physics is divided into the following major branches: 1. Mechanics 2. Waves 3. Electromagnetism 4. Optics 5. Nuclear Physics 6. Thermodynamics 1. Mechanics is the branch of physics that deals with the motion of bodies under the influence of forces. It includes both bodies at rest and bodies in motion. 2. Waves is the branch of physics that deals with the propagation or transfer of energy through space or matter. 3. Electromagnetism is the branch of physics that studies the interaction between electric and magnetic fields. 4. Optics is the branch of physics that deals with the behavior and properties of light in different media such as glass and water. 5. Nuclear Physics is the branch of physics that deals with...
